Boys Dancewear — Shirts

If your son is interested in ballet, you should encourage him to continue.  Ballet and dance in general is an amazingly challenging sport.  Not only does it require the dancer to be super fit and strong but they need to be artistic and sensitive to the motions and music.  Ballet for boys is a fantastic sport and should be encouraged by providing the proper equipment such as the proper boys dancewear, boys tights, dance shoes and a dance belt.

Allen Bodywear Men’s Cap Sleeve Leotard

For boys, it is pretty easy to find the proper shirt for practice and rehearsal.  Just a basic white t-shirt or tank top will suffice.  You will want to make sure his shirt is somewhat tight and long enough to tuck into his tights or dance belt.

A tighter shirt will show the position of his upper body better making it easier for the teacher to see and give proper corrections.  A tighter shirt will also be easier to tuck into his tights without it bunching up.

Sleeveless shirts and tanks are also great and allow better motion for the arms.

Allen Bodywear Men’s Tank Unitard

Some boys may prefer to wear a leotard.  A boys leotard is similar to a t-shirt and actually looks like a t-shirt that is perfectly tucked in, but is really connected between the legs.

Boys leotards differ from girls in that they are intended to be worn under the tights as opposed to over the tights. Boys leotards usually have a thong back to prevent lines and provide adequate support. Some might have snaps beneath the crotch and many styles  have a scoop neck which allows them to step through the neck area to put it on.

Another option is a unitard or biketard.  The unitard is a combination of tights and top whereas the biketard is a top and shorts combination.

Dance is a great sport to be involved in.  Having the proper boys dancewear will provide your son the confidence he needs to excel at dance.
