It's been a great summer of fun and relaxation but soon the summer will be over and the kids will be returning to their usual routine. Dance classes will start up again and now is the time to start preparing for the sudden demands of a rigourous dance class schedule. Don't be left unprepared this year when dance circumstances arise. Having a properly equipped dance bags is the best way to eliminate stress and foster a organized prepared child.

What should you have in the dance bag;
1. A small emergency kit in case of headaches, blisters and minor cuts or scraps. Items like Advil, bandaids, compressor tape and neosporin.
2. Personal items are always a must. Such as deodorant, hand sanitizer, mints, chapstick, hair pins, elastics, hairspray, makeup, hair brush and nail clippers.
3. A dance journal and pen should always be carried along in the dance bag so you can immediately write down any important information such as notes about the class, corrections and choreography.
4. Snacks (banana, dried fruit and nuts, energy bar, pretzels) and bottled water or Gatoraide is good to have on hand since you do not want to run out of energy partially though a class.
5. Plan a charged cell phone and ipod for those moments in-between classes.
6. Most importantly, dance attire. This of course will include spare leotards and tights (black, beige and pink). Don't forget the dance shoes for all classes for that evening and proper practice dance wear.
Getting the perfect bag is a must. A dance bag isn't just a sack to dump your stuff in, it is a part of the dancers equipment to help keep them organized and prepared. A good dance bag will have; proper ventilation to release the sweaty smells from shoes after a hard class, enough room to carry all your necessities around neatly, many compartments to stash your items in an organized fashion, and be comfortable and easy to carry around.
