Ribbons — Pointe Shoes

Pointe shoes are secured to the foot and provide the necessary stability by ribbons and elastic bands. There are two ribbons on either sides of the shoe that wrap up and around the ankle in opposite directions, overlapping one another in a criss cross manner and then tied together in a knot which is then tucked away under the ribbon out of sight.
